With all this great weather we’ve been having, we at Chase Construction North West, Inc. love to be outdoors! I mean we are roofers after all, so when we aren’t up on a roof enjoying the sun, we like to join the community and have a little fun! There is way too much fun stuff for us to do all ourselves, so we thought we’d share some with you! From music festivals to pony rides, and even community parades, here are a few things happening around the Puget Sound this weekend!
Snoqualmie Railroad Days August 14-16
Would you love to ride a steam powered locomotive? You can this weekend! Snoqualmie will be having their annual community festival celebrating their spirit and 
origins as a railroad and logging town. This event includes a grand parade, timber sports demonstrations, food and drink venues as well as the fireman’s pancake breakfast that started it all!
Auburn Days August 14-16
“A glimpse of the past, brought to the present, to build for the future.” That is the feeling that this festival brings to the Auburn community. Friday will feature an all school reunion featuring a dance under the stars. There will also be the parade, annual Auburn Days Winer’s Run starting at 7 and dinner is included! Saturday features a pancake breakfast, followed by a BBQ and beer garden, a Grand Parade featuring vehicles from ’69 or older, a book drive and entertainment at the City Hall Stage. On Sunday there will be a “Good Ol’ Show & Shine Classic Car Show” featuring vehicles from ’79 and older. There will also be a “Poets on Parade” contest as well as more entertainment and an International Farmers Market.
Columbia Winery Charity Run, Walk & Kids’ Dash in Woodinville – Saturday, August 15, 2015
Starting promptly at 8:30am, with registration at 7am, this walk/run benefits uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Ensuring that all children in the Northwest receive quality care, regardless of their ability to pay, is the goal of Children’s Hospital. And this is a great way we can all help out, and stay fit at the same time. Although dogs are not allowed on this coarse, strollers are welcome, so pack up your little one, and help someone else’s little one, and get yourself to the Columbia Winery, located at: 14030 NE 145th Street, Woodinville, WA 98072.
Come Celebrate Shoreline’s Birthday! Fridays and Saturdays through August 22nd.
Shoreline is having a birthday celebration for the whole city! Do you love fiddler on the roof? Come enjoy a live production presented by the Aurora Theater Company. Friday August 14th is featuring a Skate competition from 12-5pm at Paramount School Park. There will be different options for different age levels and a free BBQ! Come Saturday and enjoy a classic car-show at Aurora Square, 155th and Aurora Avenue N. The family friendly festival will be this Saturday from 12-6 at Cromwell Park, 18030 Meridian Ave N. The family will enjoy pony rides, a children’s stage, bouncy houses, petting zoo, live theater, food trucks, and more! And in the evening will be a brand new all ages event – a Main Stage concert featuring live local bands! To end the weekend on Sunday, there will be a “Beach to Bluff Run and Sandcastle Contest” from 7:30am – 2pm at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park – 2021 NW 190th St. The day will start with a free 2 mile walk/run and end with a sandcastle construction competition. Bring your own buckets and tools to compete, or just watch from the sidelines. This weekend will sure be one to remember for Shoreline!
BrasilFest August 16th
The Seattle Center will be heated up this Sunday with Brazilian Dancing, drumming, music, films, traditional food, workshop and exhibits. This free festival was started in 1999 by Brazilian immigrants with the mission to expose Brazilian culture to the community. Visit www.seattlecenter.com for more information.
