Celebrating 30 years!
This week, our team was able to attend Habitat for Humanities Annual Benefit Luncheon, and this year they are celebrating 30 years! Held in Seattle’s Washington State Convention Center, on Tuesday March 22nd, they were able to raise a record amount of $583,960! This fun and informative time brought together more than 800 business and community leaders, Habitat homeowners, and supporters from all backgrounds. Attendees all share the same belief that all people deserve a safe, decent, and affordable home.
About the Luncheon
Our fearless leader Joel Beattie was able to attend this luncheon with a few friends in the industry including, GAF Territory Managers, Donovan Gladstone and Tom Stancik. They learned that Habitat is always looking to provide more solutions to touch more lives in the community, to break the cycle of poverty, and this year they are looking to expanding their programs to do just that! they heard from former Massachusetts Governor, Deval Patrick. A tireless advocate for affordable housing, Patrick currently serves as a Managing Director of Bain Capital LLC, where he focuses on investments that make significant positive social impact. Habitat’s CEO, Gail Luxenberg, mentioned that: Among his many resonant points, one in particular stood out for a lot of people—the idea that we should “shout our kindness, and whisper our anger,” in a world where the opposite is far too often the case.
