Stars and Stripes, the meaning of Independence Day- By Chase Construction NW, Inc.-Roofing

Chase NW Roofing Remember’s The Meaning of Independence Day,

“Let freedom ring!” It’s that time again, where we gather our families together to celebrate our freedom as a nation. We are blessed to live in the greatest country in the world. As we light our fireworks and have a great time with our friends and families, let’s take a moment to remember what Independence Day is really about. Check out this incredible reminder by Author Heidi Anderson of Washington. She passionately describes the meaning of our independence on this wonderful blog entitled “Happy 236th birthday, America!”

Stars and Stripes

When I think of Independence Day, I think of the good ol stars and stripes on the American flag. Considering the Biblical foundation that our nation is built upon, my heart and soul takes a trip to two distinct places in the Word of God. In Genesis 15 God takes Abraham outside and says “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them. And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”

The Stars

The stars on our flag represent the states of our union. These stars are also symbolic of the vision and promises God has made to his covenant people. God’s vision and promises never die, and so He promises that as long as the stars are in the sky, you will be reminded of my vision and promises for your life. America was born out of vision, and I believe that seed of vision still lives on in the hearts of many people today.

The Stripes

13 red and white stripes are also prominently displayed on our flag. The stripes represent the 13 original colonies and were designed by George Washington. In a spiritual connotation we see perhaps the most prolific and meaningful verse in all of the holy scripture. It reads “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities’; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”

Christ set us free and purchased our freedom by the sacrifice and stripes that He suffered. Our independence was paid for by the stripes that were laid on men and women who had a vision for our country. Men and women who envisioned you and I celebrating with our families with out the tyranny and persecution that was a yoke on their necks. There is always a sacrifice or a price for freedom. We at Chase Construction NW, Inc.-Roofing want to thank the men, women and their families who sacrifice to make our country and this world what it is.

Be safe this 4th of July-Fire Safety

Please remember that fireworks are a potential fire hazard if not used properly. By preparing well and utilizing proper safety you can prevent a terrible accident.

We Recommend:

Checking with your city to make sure fireworks are legal. If they are not find a safe place where you can lite your fireworks legally.

Always make sure there is proper adult supervision when children are involved in lighting fireworks.

Be cautious while drinking alcohol; don’t be careless while under the influence of liquid courage.

Always have a bucket of water and hose readily available to put out any fires you see. Put mortars and fireworks that you have lit, or have failed into a bucket of water to ensure they will not ignite.

Roofing and fireworks

IKO Armour Shake “Presidential Style” roofing in Bonney Lake, Washington by Chase NW Roofing

The good news about roofing and fireworks is that most asphalt composition shingles are manufactured to carry a class A fire rating. If you have a metal roof you are in good shape as well.  That means the roofing material is designed to resist fire at the highest level. This doesn’t permit carelessness, but it does grant some peace of mind. If you have a wood shake roof or a flat roofing system, you will want to stay on the alert through the holiday.

If your roof becomes a victim of fire damage this 4th of July please contact your “Home Improvement Hero’s” Chase Construction NW Inc. We are always quick to respond and can have your roof replaced or repaired in a jiffy. You can reach us at 253-445-8950 or fill out our quick estimate form and we will contact you in a very timely manner.
