Most roofing felt (or underlayment) is designed with the prevention of this in mind, but TigerPaw™ specifically provides longer-lasting leak protection than conventional felts. In fact, TigerPaw’s special moisture-control design helps remove nearly twice as much damaging moisture from your roof deck as the leading synthetic non-breathable underlayment. Unlike conventional felts that can disintegrate over time, TigerPaw’s non-asphaltic, polypropylene construction allows for long-lasting performance. The aesthetics of your roof are improved due to the technology in the product that allows it to resist wrinkling and buckling that can “telegraph” through your roof shingles and detract from the finished appearance of your roof. The product also helps your shingles lay flat and uniform, leading to a better-looking finished roof.

GAF’s TigerPaw roof deck protection offers many points of value to the installers as well. This relays benefits back onto the customer as it more surely insures against errors in installation. TigerPaw’s specially designed surface is safer for workers to walk on and provides excellent roof walkability. Its’ anti-skid back coating helps to improve walkability, while also helping to keep the roll stationary during installation. The material is stronger, 
providing at least 600% (7 times) greater tear strength than standard #30 felt and the up to 129% higher nail pull-through strength helps to keep the product in place. The light gray rather than black surface is also cooler to handle in the hot weather when most roofs are being installed. Though TigerPaw™ is recommended for us in asphaltic shingle roof systems, the benefits still shine through in non-asphaltic systems such as slate, wood, metal or tile.
